Volney C. CLARK

Mr. V. C. CLARK, Police Judge of Crofton, died last Friday. He was about sixty years of age and was a good citizen. He was the father of Miss Lula CLARK who is well known to our Madisonville people. Judge CLARK died of pneumonia. This is three persons who have died with the same disease in the same town during the last few days. Besides Judge CLARK were John CLARK and John LEWIS, all good men.

Mr. V. C. CLARK, the police judge of this place, died Saturday. Mr. Clark will be missed by his many friends. He was once a merchant at this city, but retired a few years ago, and was elected police judge of this place. In his many decisions, there were but few appealed. He was a member of the Christian Church and also of the Masonic fraternity. His daughter, Miss. Sallie, died just a few weeks ago. He leaves a wife, one child and many friends to mourn his loss.

OBITUARY: A Sad Death ---- Miss. Sallie CLARK, of Crofton, died Tuesday and the body was buried the next day. She was the only sister of Miss. Lula CLARK, one of the teachers in the Madisonville public school. Miss. CLARK was in this city the Sunday week before her death, on a visit to friends. She returned not fully well and was taken to her bed the next day. She was about 22 years of age and was much beloved by all who knew her. (Source: Madisonville Hustler, Friday, Nov. 27, 1896)
