After an illness of about 2 weeks, Mr. G. W. ELDER died at his home last Saturday evening. He was an old citizen of this county, and his death leaves a vacancy in this community which none other can fill as he did. As a Christian, in every respect, he was excelled by none.

Mr. Harvey Elder fell from the top of his barn one day last week and coming in contact with the floor was almost lifeless for a while. February 15, 1882, We learn that Mr. Harvey Elder has been unwell for sometime.

Harvey L. Elder forever released from his bond or articles of apprenticeship with the court as master of Pleasant A. Vaughan, he having procured another good home for Vaughan. Ordered that Pleasant A. Vaughan, age 14 on 2 July 1890, be bound and apprenticed to S. D. Flanary until the age of 21.
The 1910 census she says she is the mother of 6 children but only 4 are still living. She was married to a Sheppard before she married Harvey. She had two children by Sheppard. The girls names were Kittie & Alida Sheppard. She was living with her son William in 1910.

Mr. J. Tilford Elder, will go to teach a singing school. Mr. Elder is one of the best singers in the county. February 15, 1882, A new arrival at the residence of our friend J. T. Elder, he now sings. February 7, 1883, Mr. J. T. Elder has sold his farm to Harvey Elder. June 7, 1888, Mr. J. T. Elder has been ill several days, but is recuperating.
NOTES: In about 1896, James and his family moved to Dodge City, Kansas and lived there until about 1908 when they moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where James died in 1922. James and Mary were the parents of 9 children 5 boys and 4 girls, 8 of which lived to adulthood and were married and living in the west when James died in 1922.

Robert Elder of Cour de Laine, Idaho, son of J. Tilford Elder a former resident here, and grandson of Judge R. A. Dowell, now of Welsford, Kansas, arrived Tuesday to visit old friends here and in the county. He left Marion 15 years ago. He visited at the homes of W. H., Eura H. and J. T. Bigham. He is an attorney.
