Schlochau
The grove in the center was formerly an island in the Schlochauer lake. After several hundred years, the water mirrors of the lake were
sunk approximately 5 meters, the grove was no longer an island. In the grove, one recognizes the building-complex of the "Waldschlößchens,"
with it's hall-construction. To the northeast, of the Waldschlößchens, the firing range lay for the archers and shooting range for the
shooting-fair. Also the playing field and the swimming pool at the lake are clearly recognizable. View of a topigraphical map of Heribert Wehry.
In dem Kartenausschnitt aus der Topographischen Karte ist die Lage des Wäldchens als ehemalige Insel im Schlochauer See deutlich zu
erkennen. Nachdem vor mehreren hundert Jahren der Wasserspiegel des Sees um etwa 5 Meter abgesenkt worden war, war die Insellage des
Wäldchens beendet. In dem Wäldchen erkennt man den Gebäudekomplex des "Waldschlößchens" mit seinem Saalbau. Nordöstlich des
Waldschlößchens lag der Schießplatz für die Schützen und das Schießen zum Schützenfest. Auch der Sportplatz und das Schwimmbad am See

The old postcard shows the Schlochauer grove with the recreation and sport-places of the city Schlochau. In the foreground lay the sea resort
Schlochau and left the boat-bridge for rudder boats and canoes. The sailboats had their berth by the lakeside lying across the way from the
swimming beach. Beyond the grove, the playing field lay on a peninsula in the Lanke or the Small Amts-Lake, a part of the Schlochauer
lake. In the grove, was the Waldschlößchens restaurant, the illuminated footpaths, and the firing range of the club. In the
background, the Richnauer street proceeded with the line of houses from Schlochau left, toward Richnau and Konitz to the right. The street

Die alte Postkarte zeigt das Schlochauer Wäldchen mit den Erholungs- und Sportstätten der Stadt Schlochau. Im Vordergrund lag das Seebad
Schlochau und links der Bootssteg für Ruder- und Paddelboote. Die Seegelboote hatten ihren Liegeplatz von dem Bad aus gesehen an der
gegenüber liegenden Seeseite rechts. Jenseits des Wäldchens lag der Sportplatz auf einer Halbinsel in der Lanke oder dem Kleinen Amts-See,
einem Teil des Schlochauer Sees. In dem Wäldchen waren das Restaurant Waldschlößchen, die beleuchtbaren Wanderwege und der
Schießplatz des Vereins. Im Hintergrund verlief die Richnauer Straße mit der Häuserzeile von links Schlochau nach rechts Richnau und Konitz.

The playing field lay on a peninsula in the Small Amts Lake, that is also named Lanke. In the picture, the playing field is depicted with
game field and sprint lanes as well as grandstand. In the background, the Schlochauer grove lies on the ridge of the former island
in the Schlochauer lake. Right, the tower of the Teutonic Knights Castle. Before it lies the swamp that appeared after the lowering of the
water level. Here are women jumping the long jump.
Der Sportplatz lag auf einer Halbinsel in dem Kleinen Amts See, der auch Lanke genannt wird. Im Bild ist der Sportplatz mit Spielfeld und
Laufbahnen sowie Tribüne dargestellt worden. Im Hintergrund liegt das Schlochauer Wäldchen auf dem Höhenrücken der ehemaligen Insel im
Schlochauer See. Rechts ragt der Turm der Ordensburg des Deutschen Ritterordens auf. Davor liegt der Seesumpf nach Absenkung des
Seespiegels. Hier sind Frauen das Springen der Weitsprung.

Die Postkarte zeigt den mit Beleuchtung versehenen Wanderweg im Schlochauer Wäldchen. Die Laternen standen auf der linken Seite des
Weges. Von diesem Wanderweg aus sah man hinüber zur Stadt Schlochau mit dem Kirchturm der St. Jakobus Kirche neben dem Marktplatz.

This shows the restaurant in the, "Schochauer grove," at that time a popular destination of Schlochau and it's surroundings. From the city
Schlochau, lit footpaths with pretty lanterns led through the grove to the "Waldschlößchen." Not far away lay the free swimming beach, the
playing field of Schlochau at the opposite side of the grove. So, the grove was center of diverse activities and events during the year.

Das Bild "Waldschlößchen Schlochau," zeigt das Restaurant in dem "Schochauer Wäldchen", dem damals beliebten Ausflugsziel von
Schlochau und seiner Umgebung. Von der Stadt Schlochau führten mit hübschen Laternen erleuchtete Wanderwege durch das Wäldchen
zum "Waldschlößchen". Nicht weit entfernt lag das Freibad am Amtssee und an der entgegengesetzten Seite des Wäldchens der Sportplatz von
Schlochau. So war das Wäldchen Zentrum vielfältiger Aktivitäten und Ereignisse während eines laufenden Jahres. Im Jahr 1990 waren die
Beleuchtungsanlagen gänzlich verfallen.
