The church (until 1617 Catholic) long stood in the association with
Grabau, where the Protestant manor home lady appointed an
evangelical pastor. An old man from Reinfeld tells that two oxen
were stolen and the pursued thief was shot in the Grabauer church.
His blood sprayed the beams, since then it was not preached in
because of the sin. Then the patron manor lady died. The church-bond
between Grabau and Darsen broke. They kept for a long time the
prayers in a room of the administrator-house, until the priest Runge
of Schwessin succeeded. In 1767 a new church of wood with a thatched
roof was errected. It became gradually decrepit. In 1868, the
reconstruction took place in the manner that presented a new
building with aid of the still usable material from the timbering
with a tower on the roof, just a branch of Flötenstein.

Die Kirche bis 1617 kath. stand lange im Verbande mit Grabau, wo die
protestantische Gutsherrin eine ev. Pfarrer einsetzte. Nun
wurden, so erzählt ein alter Herr aus Reinfeld, zwei Ochsen
gestohlen und der verfolgte Dieb in der Grabauer Kirche erschossen.
Sein Blut bespritzte die Balken, seitdem wurde darin des Frevels
wegen nicht gepredigt. Dazu starb die Patronsatsherrin. Das
Kirchenband zwischen Grabau und Darsen zerriss. Lange Zeit hielt
man die Andachten in einem Zimmer des Verwalterhauses ab, bis es dem
Pfarrer Runge (Schwessin) gelang, 1767 eine neue Kirche aus Holz
unter Strohdach zu errichten. Sie wurde allmählich baufällig. 1868
erfolgte der Neubau in der Weise, dass man mit Zuhilfenahme des noch
brauchbaren Materials ein neues Gebäude aus Fachwerk mit einem Turm
auf dem Dach aufführte, nunmehr Filiale von Flötenstein.
