A Schedule Containing a list of the personal estate Constituting the Separate Property of
Mrs. Penelope D. Martin Consort of Edmund D. Martin of Polk County of the State of
Texas to Wit:
One Negro man named Wilson of Copper or yellow complexion about thirty five years of
        age and about five feet and eight inches in height.
One Negro woman named Candis of Copper or yellow complexion and about thirty years
        of age
One Negro girl named Jane the child of the above name Candis of copper or yellow
        complexion and about nine years of age
One Negro girl also the Child of said Candis of Dark complexion and named Lucy about
        eight years of age
One Negro boy named Nathan? the Child of said Candis of Copper or yellow complexion
        and about five years of age
One Negro boy named Wiley also the Child of Candis of Copper or yellow complexion
        and about three years old
One Negro boy the Child of Candis of yellow complexion about five months old
        All the above named Negroes being Slaves for life to the Said Penelope D. Martin her
heirs and assigns—Also one Dark brown Mule 6 years old   One Bay Horse 10 years old
One Board? Wagon.  One Gin Stand the Same being on the homestead plantation.  Four
Yoke or pairs of work oxen.

The State of Texas}
       Polk County   }  Personally appeared before me the undersigned Chief Justice Mrs.
 Penelope D. Martin who to me makes the following Statement:  I Penelope D. Martin
have designated the items of property Contained in the Schedule written on the first page
of this sheet and hereby claim and acknowledge the Same to be my Separate Property in
contradiction? to any  Claimed or owned in Community by myself and my husband.
                                                  Penelope D. Martin

In testimony of the facts herein before mentioned the signing of the above statements by
the Said Penelope D. Martin and her Claim and acknowledgement of the property known
in the Said Schedule to be her Separate Property.  I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the Seal of the County this the Twenty eight day of August in the year One
thousand eight hundred and Fifty.

Note: the word “g” in Schedule – 1st line written on erasure-and the word “Five” in 11th
‘Of yellow or Copper” in 16th “that” in 4th of the foregoing Schedule erasure—also the
letter “g” in the 4th line erasure and the word property” in the 4th line of said Schedule
written on erasures.

     Polk County      } I certify that the foregoing Schedule and Certificates thereto were
this day recorded in my office in Record Book of the Separate Property of Married
Women B  pages  9 & 10  at 11 O’Clock AM
