My Biography
Personally I knew nothing of the family, I was raised a foster child, since the age of 3. William R. Lyons my “Lyons name only” father, who married my mother Ethel Virginia Simpers knowing she was pregnant with another man's child, left me in Colorado at the age of 2, and told no one, including my mother (who had been sent back to Maryland or Delaware with mental, and health problems) where I was. For all definitions ABANDONED, with a few families in Colorado. I have no complaints with the family that raised me; they did me a favor by giving me a home, since I had gone through 3 different hands (people William knew). This family said “it was time this boy had a home”. It was told to everyone involved that Ethel was an only child and that she had no surviving kin. So there was no search done, I was raised as theirs; I still care, love and call this family mine. Knowledge of these facts came to me when I turned 15 and seen my birth certificate. I carried this family's name for 12 years and found out that I was someone else. So my search began... I have been tracing my roots for 20 years blindly, until one day in 1995 I was contacted from my mother, who was dying of colon cancer. With a few family contacts, luck, 10 more years and a lot of calls, I have indeed closed the gap. I have found not only was my mother not an only child but came from a very large family. Family in which had been searching. Family in which had been wondering. A worried, confused, mother which had the pain from the lost of her son. Letters I have read has pain in her heart, with anger at the man that wouldn't speak of my where bouts, doubt of the future of her child’s well being... So may I introduce Myself; MICHAEL ANTHONY 9 LYONS, ETHEL VIRGINIA 8 (LYONS), BERTHA BLANCHE 7(SIMPERS), CHARLES EDWARD 6, NORMAN B. 5, WILLIAM B. 4, CHRISTIAN 3, CHRISTIAN 2 ANGNEY, DEWALT JOHAN 1 ANKENY So this site and all the future sites are very important for me. I can only let you know that family is my sole happiness, and look forward to all the future contacts and family. Next stop Father, Father! Are you my dad???
