Mayme (Mary) Wrice APRIL 11, 1912-JAN. 15, 2006 GLACE BAY It is with sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and great greatgrandmother, Mayme (nee Neary) Wrice at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex, Glace Bay. Born and raised in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Beatrice (Cooke) Neary. She enjoyed a good game of cards with her children and grandchildren. In her younger years she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 125. She was an avid reader. Mayme is survived by children, Theresa Young, Glace Bay, Isabell (Bill) Benoit, Ontario, Alice (Joe) Oakley, Pugwash, Muriel (Leonard) Timmerman, Ontario, Ducie (Sylvia) Wrice, Glace Bay, Bernie (Judy) Wrice, Ontario, Anne Marie (Kevin) Kelly, Glace Bay, Trish (Wes) Penny, New Brunswick, Rita (Donnie) Morrison, Elmsdale, Mike (Liz) Wrice, Ontario; 39 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Rose Sullivan and two brothers, Pat and Bud Neary; and several nieces and nephews. Mayme was predeceased by her husband, Joe (Duce) Wrice, two grandchildren, Nancy and Joey Wrice, one great-grandchild, Melissa MacIsaac, sisters, Anne and Stacia, brothers, Bern and Andy. Visitation for the late Mayme Wrice will take place Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main Street, Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, at St. John's Parish, Glace Bay with Fr. John MacIntyre officiating. YES YES YES

GLACE BAY: Funeral services were held at Holy Cross Church June 24th for Nancy Lee Wrice, ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wrice, 204 Shaft Street, who died June 21st., at the Glace Bay General Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past six months. She was member of Holy Cross Church and attended the parish school. She is survived by her parents, her mother being the former Sylvia Blois; a sister Rita and brother Joseph at home; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wrice, New Aberdeen and Mrs. Christina Blois, Highland Street and by her great grandmother, Mrs. John Neary, New Aberdeen. Interment was made in St. Anne's Cemetery. The funeral was directed by Curry's Funeral Home. YES YES YES

Young: Fabian Young, 47, of 254 Centre Ave. in New Aberdeen, was a gob support man. He was a Glace Bay native. Mr. Young is survived by his wife, the former Theresa Wrice of Glace bay, sons, Michael with the Canadian Forces in ALert, Northwest Territories, Robert, Darrell, Gerry, Glenn, Brent and Todd all at home, and one daugter Jo Anne also at home. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs., Floyd Young of New Aberdeen. Mr. Young was a member of St. John's Parish. Other survivors are brothers John and Albert of Glace Bay, Richard and Hubert of Ontario, and a sister Carmel (Mrs. Donald Popwell) of Glace Bay. THe body of Mr. Young rests at St. John's Glebe House and visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. YES YES YES

Philip Joseph Neary 1916 - 2007 It is with sadness we announce the death of our father Philip Joseph Neary. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Jack and Beatrice Neary. He was employed with Devco for many years as a miner. He worked in nos. 20, 1B and 26 collieries until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many happy times hunting and fishing with his best friend, Wilfred Gilmet. He is survived by his children, Betty (Dannie), Jackie (Anne) and Pat (Linda); brother, Patrick and sister, Rose, all of Glace Bay; grandchildren, Philip and Danielle, John, Terry,Todd, Andy, Sean and Erin, Randy and Tracey; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, Brian, Ryan, Sarah, Jacqueline and Nathan. He was predeceased by his wife, Viola Marsh; daughters, Evangeline and Alice; sisters, Muriel, Anne and Stashia; brothers, Bernie and Andy. Funeral arrangements under the directionof Curry's Funeral Home, Glace Bay, will be announced in Wednesday's edition of the Cape Breton Post. Donations are suggested to Palliative Care or charity of choice. YES YES YES
