Note: "The Chronicle-Herald," May 4, 1984, Sydney - Mrs. Michaelena (Lena) Paruch Sydney died Thursday in Spring Garden Villa, Sydney. Born in Poland, she was a member of St. Mary's Polish church. She is su rvived by four sons, John, Stanley, Edward and Wlater, all of Sydney, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Enderle, St. Paul, Minn, Josephine Shirola, Saulk Center, Minn, a sister Rose Sobesberger, Glace Bay. Sh e was predeceased by her husband Joseph, a son Michael and two sisters, Nellie and Annie. The body is in the T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will b e 3:30 pm Saturday from St. Mary's Church , Rev. Jim MacLean officiating with burial in Resurrection Cemetery.

He wa s a retired steel worker. He was a member of St. Mary's Polish Church. He was a founding member of the musicians union and a vetern of the Second Wold War. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, br anch 128, and Sydney Mines Legion Band. He is survived by his wife, the former Stella Morz; four sons, John and Kenny, both of Coxheath; Richard, Mira Road; Alan, Sydney; two sisters, Josephine Shirol a and Mary (Mrs. Charles Enderle), both of St. Paul; three brothers, Stanley, Edward and Walter, all of Sydney; three grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Elaine in infancy, on e brother, Michael. The body is in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be 11 am today in St. Mary's Church, Rev. James MacLean Officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery Sydney. Donations m ay be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Foundation or any charity.
