A larg crowd from this vicinity attended the funeral services Wednesday, Feburary 7th for Willie SWANSON at the Gust SWANSON home. The body was laid to rest in the Liberty township cemetery. Some of his young friends and school mates acted as pall bearers. Services Saturday for Gust SWANSON
Gust Swanson, 80, who had farmed in Plymouth countyu over 50 years, died last week THursday at a LeMars hospital after seven months of illness. He was born Sep. 3, 1878, in Sweden, the son of Sven and Mary Peterson. Following Swedish custom, children take the father's first name as their sir-name ---Svenson or, in this country, SWANSON. Mr. SWANSON came to this country n 1893. After moving to Plymouth county, je farmed for many years in Liberty township northwest of Hinton. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hershel HARDING of Troy, Mont., who is a member of the Women's Air Force stationed at Yaak air force base, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and a brother, Victor SWANSON of LeMars. Preceeding Mr. SWANSON in death his wife and a son.
Graveside services were held at 2 p,m, Saturday at the Liberty township cemetery. Pallbearers were Pete JENSEN, Oral BUNNES, Ejner HANSEN, Tom FLANNERY, Loyd CROUCH and Harry KOVARNA. 1959 Mrs. Mary E. SWANSON
Mrs. Mary E. SWANSON died Saturday morning, June 20th, at the home of her son, Gustave. She had been invalid (?) for fourteen years. Mrs. SWANSON was born in Sweden in 1836, came to America in 1893. She leaves five children, Carl of Sioux City, Edward of Cherokee, Gustave and Victor of this place, and Mrs. Earnest PETERSON of Cherokee. The funeral was held at the house at 3 p.m. Sunday. The remains where laid to rest in the Liberty township cemetery, The pallbearers were her four sons, Mr. PETERSON and Mr. ANDERSON. 21 June 1968 Last Rites for Victor SWANSON
Funeral services for Victor A. SWANSON, 92, were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at te Luken Funeral Home in LeMars. The Rev. Robert FLOY officiated and burial was in Liberty township cemetery near Hinton. Mr. SWANSON died Monday in a LeMars hospital after a two week illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1873 in Redaholm, Sweden, and came to the United States when he was 15. He lived at Holdredge, Neb., for a time before moving to Plymouth county where he farmed for many years before retirement. He married Hulda ASPLAND Sept. 27, 1899 at Sioux City. Survicors inclide one daughter, Mrs. Evangeline JAAKS of Payson, Ariz., and one son, Albert of Sioux City. Feb. 1966
