<B>Was Long Time Resident Here <I>Carl BLAKE</i></b><br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Carl Blake, a long time resident here, who made his home with Mr. & Mrs. Gust SWANSON, died Saturaday afternoon at 3 o'clock, following an operation for removal of a tumor on the brain, in the state hospital in Iowa City.&nbsp;&nbsp;He suffered much pain at times since early fall and had been a patient in the ZIMMERMAN home at LeMars until Thursday when he was taken to Iowa City.<BR>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Barnett funeral home in Merrill.&nbsp;&nbsp;Burial was in the Liberty township cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<i> Dec. 1938</i><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://images.rootsweb.com/css/h/h.css">
