************************************************************************************ Death of Mrs. Asplund - Was a Former Resident of Perry Twp.
Mrs. C. A. ASPLUND died at her home, 2520 Geneva Street, Sioux City, on Friday, Feburary 28th, of cancer of the stomach, age 61 years. She leaves a husband, five daughters and three sons to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held yesterday at the home and at the Crescent Park Methodist church in Sioux City and the interment made at the Liberty township Plymouth county cemetery.
The ASPLUNDS formerly lived in this county but removed a few years ago to make their hom in Sioux City 4 Mar 1913 ASPLUND TOOK OWN LIFE - Coroner Announces Finding in Shooting Case - Charles Asplund
Chas. ASPLUND who for many years lived in Perry township, but of later years has resided in Sioux City, took his own life according to the verdict of a coroner's jury. ASPLUND shot himself while alone in a room at his home in Sioux City on Saturday. "He was taken to a local hospital. He never regained consciousness. The bulluet destroyed the optic nerves and pierced the lower part of his brain, causing him to suffer hemorages". The Sioux City journal of Wensday says; "Dr. J. E. GARVER, county coroner, following an invesigation of the death of Charles A. ASPLUND, a retired farmer, yesterday declared that the man took his own life.
ASPLUND died Monday afternoon at St. Vincent's hospital from a revolover wound, which was self inflicted. Coroner Garver said. "The shooting occured Saturday afternoon at ASPLUND's home 2522 Geneva Street.
ASPLUND is survived by his wife, who marr
ied him a few months ago. She formerly was Mrs. Nina JOHNSON."

Funeral services for Albert Julius ASPLUND, 82, of Sioux City were at 1: 30 p.m. Saturday at Nelson - Berger north side funeral home. Rev. Royal Steiner officiated. Burial was in Liberty township cemetery. Pallbearers were six nephews, Albert SWANSON, Lloyd CAIN, Chales, Raymond, Edmund and Alfred ANDERSON.
