Christian Link and Catherine Scipold:

Know all men by these presents that we Christian Link and John Scipold are held and firmly bound unto James P. Preston, Esquire Governor and chief magistrate of the commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars the payment whereof will and truly to be made to the said Governor and his successors for the use of the commonwealth we bind our selves our heirs and jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 27th April 1818.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage intended to be shortly had and solemnized between the above bound Christian Link and Catherine Scipold.  Now if there be no lawful cause or obstruction the same then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.

Gasper Link and Mary Nozler

Know all men by these presents that we Gasper Link and Phillip Barriger are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of Virginia for the time being and his successors in the just and full sum of 50 pounds.  ???? we bind ourselves, our heirs jointly and severally and firmly by these presents as witness our hand seals this 22nd day of September, 1787.  The condition of the above obligation is faith that whereas the above bound Gasper Link has this day obtained License for his marriage with Mary Nozler, daughter of Boston Nozler of this County.  Now if there should be no just cause to obstruct the said marriage then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and virtue.
