Vicki L Harburger, 14122 Churchill Est. Blvd. #101, San Antonio, TX 78248 seeks the Platt connection of her great grand-father, Thaddeus Benedict Platt, b. NY abt. 1834, m. Syracuse, NY 1860 Dora L. Lee. Moved 1st to Eden, KS where dau. Kate was b. abt 1864; then to Atchison, KS where dau. Josephine Lee Platt (Vicki's grandmother) was b. abt 1874. Josie m. 15 June 1898 Samuel E. Harburger and had 2 children, one of whom was Vicki's father, Platt Asher Harburger. In Atchison, KS there was also an Augustus R Platt from NY (a brother or cousin of Thaddeus?) who married Orpha Jones, also of NY. They had a son Charles T. Platt.
Frances Van Scoy of Morgantown, WV (e-mail: vanscoy@cs.wvu.edu) has found a marriage record of a Henry Platt and Rebecca Craig, 20 June 1793, Augusta Co., VA, by the Rev. John McCue. Does anyone recognize a connection here? Note: Stella Platt Hughes of Rapid City, SD reports that Henry and Rebecca may be parents of her gr-gr-grandfather, Richard Platt. Richard was born in VA in 1794 and named his 1st son Henry. There was a Henry Platt in Botetourt Co., VA in 1810 (2 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 26-45; 1 female under 10, 1 female 26-45.)}
