The following was posted to the Platt GenForum on Genealogy.com: Margaret Platt, b 16 August 1728, d. 10 August 1792, who m. Isaac Smith, was daughter of Uriah 4 Platt (Richard #131-3) and Mary Smith. Their daughter, Freelove Smith, m. Uriah Mitchell. Their daughter, Susannah Mitchell, m. William Thorn on 5 March 1796 in Oyster Bay, NY and both d. in Plattsburgh, NY. Susannah and William had a son, Platt Thorn, who m. Betsey Platt, daughter of Thomas Platt and Mary Herrick of Plattsburgh. Betsey had siblings, Relief, Daniel, and Priscilla. Can anyone identify this Thomas Platt?
Margaret Kay Platt (e-mail bitsie@jps.net) writes that she is daughter of Albert Lawrence Platt, b. Long Island, NY on 1 April 1917, d. 1999. He had a twin, Bruce. He mar. 1939/40 Katherine June Smith of Salt Lake City, UT, b 19 September 1918. 6 children: Margaret Kay, Bruce Albert, Robert Lawrence, Victor James, Ted Richard and Virginia Lee - all living now in northern California. Other siblings of Albert Lawrence were Hazel, Leonard, and James (?). They came over from England, and their mother was Margaret Spence of Scotland. Does anyone have more information on this family?
