"Looking for any Platts who came from a Liverpool orphanage from 1900-1934. Father was a merchant seaman. Mother unknown. There was suppose to be 13 children from this family in the orphanage. Would appreciate hearing from anyone with connections to this part of the Platt family."

Noreen Robbins, e-mail kyla@uconnect.net, has an ancestor Prince Griswold (or Prentess Crosley), who was sold by Matthew Griswold of Lyme, CT to a Mr. Platt of New Milford, CT abt. 1777. Prince entered the Revolutionary army to gain his freedom and served 1777-1783. Source: Black Roots in Southeastern Conn., 1600-1900, by Barbara Brown, Gail Publishers. Does anyone have more information, and know who this Mr. Platt was?

Maj. Max Rieske, P. O. Box 82, Fruitport, MI 49415, seeks location of oil painting and grave site of Col Richard Platt (1755-1789) (Platt #132-112) who was married to Sarah Aspinwall (1770-1848). He was aide-de-camp to Gen. Montgomery, Deputy Quartermaster-General of the Continental Army (1780-1781) and treasurer, NY Society of the Cincinnati, 1788. He received his first commission from George Washington, whom he was "said to resemble in form and feature more than any other person."

Pritchard, b. Springville, PA 20 May 1820, d. Boston, MA 18 January 1904, daughter of Benjamin Pritchard and Mercy Merrill. Children: Okran Platt "of Bridgeport", and Caroline Platt "of Bridgeport and Boston", m. Edward Walter.

Milton, Santa Rosa Co., FL 12 May 1984, m. 1/3 april 1932, Miami, FL, Byron Ward Platt. he was son of Anson Platt and Anna Lennox and they had one son, Charles. Does anyone know the Platt connection?
