Evelyn Beran has submitted an entry she found in Headstone Inscriptions, Town of Bethel, CT, p 120, Congregational Cemetery. "Platt, Ebenezer, died May 14, 1773, age 76." This would make him born about 1697. The earliest Ebenezer we have info on was b. 1709. Can anyone identify this elusive fellow?
Helen Sweet of
Butte, MT has sent two entries from an Arnold Genealogy:
Alice Platt of Jamestown, RI, m 7 July 1755
Newport by Rev. Nicholas Eyres, Jeremiah Fish of
Newport, RI.
Rebecca Platt, m. 24 December 1764 Newport by
Rev. Gardiner Thurston, Jerome Place.
Does anybody know who these Platt ladies were?
We have received a
call from a woman . . . looking for Miss Louise B Platt .
. . Her address [in 1943] was 48 Prospect St., Quincy, MA and she
worked at Boston Gearworks in North Quincy. . . . [related to] Rosamond
R. Platt.
Looking through my records, I find a Frank Bishop Platt #142-412-112,
b. Straford, NH in 1887. He had 4 daughters. No. 3 daughter was Louise
Blake Platt, b. 1923, who married William Scully
in 1949. Her younger sister was Rosamond Roxanna Platt,
b. 1926, who married Arthur John Porell in 1949.
It seems very likely that these are the women being sought. Does
anyone know anything about them? [some details omitted in
internet version.]
Elizabeth Platt Grosse, e-mail Lilith@aol.com, has sent new information on the Cornelius Bard Platt (CB) family, to be found on p. 303 of the 1963 Platt Genealogy, under "Other Platt Lines". Does anyone have any information or clues that would help us make a connection?
The Wesleyan Alumni Magazine, spring 1999 Issue,
had a short article (and picture) on Lucas Platt of
the class of '88. He is, "a producer at NYT Television, a New
York Times Company, and was named producer to the Learning
Channel's new series Paramedics. Platt also recently
filmed and produced two hour-long episodes of Trauma: Life in
the ER for TLC. Platt's previous credits include directing
the feature film The Girl in the Cadillac; a variety of
short films, such as The Underground, which was part of
an HBO anthology; and numerous documentaries and music
videos."
Does anyone know who he is?
