To son Andrew. Plantation &c in U. Providence cont. about 150 acres and all Real Est. To son in law John McMichael and wife Margaret $35. To son Michael $50. To son in law Alexander Woodrow $19. To dau Ann Platt $29 for her use only her husband Richard Platt to have none of it. Son Andrew Ex. John Morton, Sketchley Morton, Wit.
Can anyone place this (apparently no good) Richard Platt?

Also from Stella Platt Hughes (see vol 14, p 30): Past and Present of Dallas County, Iowa, by Prof. R. F. Wood, 1907, is a local history similar to many published throughout the country around the turn of the century. It contains biographical sketches of leading citizens, including James L. Platt and his son Chauncey B. Platt. James L. Platt was b. Angelica, NY 1826 and d. Van Meter, IA 1 February 1893. He m. Frances Barker, b. 1826 of Fredonia, NY. They had 6 children: Sarah, Hessie, Francis, Flora, James L. and Chauncey B. Sarah, Francis, and Flora were no longer living at the time of the book's publication. Hessie m. F. A. White of Marseilles, MO, James L. (Jr.) was living in Van Meter, as was Chauncey B. There is a separate sketch of Chauncey B. Platt. He was b. Kewanee, IL 26 January 1864 and m. 26 December 1894 Mary C. Stevens of Kewanee. They had one son, Allen S., b. 26 May 1896. Can anyone provide a connection for these Platts?

Edwin C. Riley, Raleigh, NC, e-mail ERiley 2742 @aol.com is doing research on Susanna Platt, dau. of Joseph 6 Platt (111-111; John 5, John 4, John 3, John 2, Richard 1). Susanna was b. 19 February 1821, d. 4 March 1852; m. Norwalk, CT 24 December 1838 Samuel Beers, b. 4 February 1817, d. 25 July 1876. Needs documentation proving Samuel is son of Seth Beers.

Bernard Holzinger of Huntington, WV found the following two entries in the 1900 US Census reports for Erie Co., OH. They are no connection to him, but offers them as possibly useful to other researchers. Does anyone know who they were?
Platt, Gary A - born 1834 in Ohio, father born in MA; mother born in PA. Gary was a resident of the Ohio State Soldiers & Sailors Home at the time of enumeration on 11 June 1900. Single.
Platt, William J. -- born May 1859 in OH. both parents born in England. Wife's name Minnie, married in 1884. Residence at time of enumeration on 5 June 1900 was rented house at 1221 Jefferson St., Sandusky, OH and occupation was expressman. No children listed.

Jonathan (Jon) Platt, Loveland, CO, e-mail platt@worf.omn.com has found the parents of his ancestor John Platt (b. 21 December 1833). They are Ephraim Platt, b. NY and Amy Fetherly (spelling uncertain), b. CT. Does anyone have any information on this couple?

Anne Platt, Monash, ACT 2904, Australia, e-mail alan.k.platt @bigpond.com seeks info on William Kendrell Platt, b. Bath, Steuben Co., NY 4 April 1835; d. Blakeville, Victoria, Australia 11 April 1918. He went to Australia on the clipper Sachsusa, arriving on 10 November 1852. His parents were Elias Leonard Platt and Henrietta Jane Hellem. A brother, Benjamin, died in the Civil War. Elias may also have gone to Australia and then returned. Can anyone find a connection? (see also Vol 19-3)
