Garrett M. Platt of Williston, FL has send a lot of information on the descent from his grandfather of the same name (E-111) in the back of the 1963 Richard of Milford book. This leads us to ask if anyone has found the connection of the first of this line, Eli Platt (E-1), b 1769? Because they were located in Otsego Co., NY, it would appear that Eli must be of the Richard family somehow.}

Wilma Meaden, e-mail wlmeaden @aol.com, seeks parents of Charity Platt, b. Fairfield, Co., CT abt 1755, d. CT or OH bef 1830; m. abt. 1774, Westport, Fairfield Co., CT, Asa Disbrow. Children: Samuel Platt, Olive, Lodemia, Betsy Platt, Jesse, Banks Davis, Platt, Levi, Lucy, Rhoda.

Seen on NYBROOKLYN-L[@rootsweb.com], a death notice from the Brooklyn "Daily Standard Union", dated 20 January 1894: "Platt - on Thursday, Marion Louise, daughter of Frank C. and Clara L. Platt, in her 9th year. Funeral from 565 Willoughby Ave., Sunday at 6:30 P.M." Can anyone identify this family?

Jo Platt Clark of Columbus, OH says that she was watching a TV program on historic houses in Denver. One, built just after the Civil War, looked like a small castle. The present owners, who have turned it into a B&B, say that one of the former owners was a Col. James Platt, and that he once ran for Vice President. We thought that it could have been James McClure9 Platt (Richard #131-232-312) but members of that family don't think so. James McClure Platt spent many years in Mexico and South America, and then lived in Beverly Hills, CA. Does anyone know who this Col. James Platt was? If he ran for Vice President, it wasn't for the Republicans or Democrats, unless he was a contender for the nomination and didn't get it.}

On the website: lcweb.loc.gov/coll/nucmc/ we found a reference to the papers of John Daly Platt (1824-1892). He was a county judge and state legislator of Jo Daviess Co., IL, and a bank president of Waterloo, Iowa. His wife was Julia Carpenter (b 1824) and they had a son, Franklin C Platt (1854-1924), who was a district judge in Iowa. Can anyone identify this Platt family?}
