• lived: Kansas, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. 1 During this time he was a cowboy, buffalo hunter and Overland Freighter. He eventually owned his own freight business which consisted of four mules, four horses and two wagons. • lived: Hood River, Oregan. 1 Early in 1881, they went to New Mexico where he continued in his freight business. After about a year, they decided to sell the freight outfit and travel to the Northwest to Washington Territory. More than three month after starting their journey, they reached Hood River, Oregan. They bought a squatter's claim on Mitchell's point near the Columbia River. • Relate: Francis brother John Perry married Samantha's sister, Melissa. 1 Francis married Samantha Margaret Knapp on 8 March 1881.1 (Samantha Margaret Knapp was born on 5 June 1861,1 died on 8 June 1907 1 and was buried in Hood River, Oregan 1.)
