Phil: Thanks for the obit. I still think it is interesting that Dr. Jacob was a Vet in Americas, went back to Henry, IL and then to Hutchinson, KS where he was a physician. It is my husband, Robert Earl Lane (deceased) who is related to the Pitzer/Green families. His is Sarah Elizabeth (born Aug. 25, 1825 - died Jan. 12, 1914 in Chebanse, Iroquois Co., IL) who married Robert Charles Lane on Sept. 25, 1855 in LaSalle Co., IL. Sarah Eliz is the daughter of William (I have been told the middle name is Green) Pitzer and Sarah (Sally Ann) Kite (daughter of Adam and Sarah Parr Kite). I would be most happy to share my information but I am afraid I have to do it the old fashion way -- by snail mail. I completed the papers for Bob so he could be a First Family of Licking Co., Ohio a number of years age. Hazel spent the winters in AZ (where I am now) and I met her at the Mesa LDS library a number of times and then I no longer heard from her. I see your e-mails are dated 2004. Please send me her e-mail address. She gave me a lot of info. on Jacob but she did not have an obit at that time. As a side note. My eldest son, Jonathan (Jay) Lane is a pediatrician and is practicing in Hutchinson, KS. His wife's family is from Lebo and Emporia but now living in Ottawa. Her father and my husband were in the College of Business at Northern IL University together. A note of interest -- my Bob was called Butch by his family as he was growing up. That must have been the popular nickname of that time. I have been in touch with a lady (??? don't have the papers in front of me) who was giving me info about Benjamin Pitzer from VA who is on her line. He was in the Civil War and then moved to KS and his wife collected a pension. There is a Benjamin on Bob's line, son of Richard and Anna Green Pitzer who died in the Civil War. I went looking for his wife (Sarah Callahan) and found the other ones wife. Your site is nicely done. Best wishes, Beverley Nelson Lane
