Carol's Favorite Zucchini Chocolate Cake

1/2 cup margine or butter, softened |
1/2 cup oil |
|
1 3/4 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
|
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 1/2 cups flour |
|
1/4 cup cocoa |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
|
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
|
3 cups unpared, grated zucchini |
6 ounce semi sweet chocolate chips |

3/4 cup nuts |
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well, in medium bowl, mix together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to wet, alternating with buttermilk, and mixing well. Stir in zucchini. Pour into greased and floured 9 X 13-inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 45 to 55 minutes. Makes 16 servings.
