Systugun Husom (118-1) in Folldal
I will now discuss (deal with) the old families in Systugun Husom (Husomsouth). Also I will take a look at the family and posterity of the"ore-finder" Ole Hansson Husom. a bit has been written about Ole, butnot so much about his family. Ole Hansson Husom was born 1696 on thefarm Lie in Dovre. He came to Folldal and was married to the heiress atthe farm Systugu Husom, Anne Siversdotter. She was the daughter of SiverMikkelson and Kirsti Pedersotter. Siver was the son of MikkelSjugurdson, whose brother Eirik Sjugurdson was the pioneer (settler) inNordistugu Husom (North Husom). (With "pioneer" I mean the first man whocleared the land and built the farm). Anne and Ole were married July 201727 in Dovre Church. The sponsors were: Ole Brandsnaes and OleSiversdon Folldalen. Anne died approximately 1734. It is possible theymight have had children, but if so none of the children grew up.
No children were mentioned when the estate was settled after Anne'sdeath March 30, 1735. (The date March 30, 1735 is not the date of thedeath of Anne, but the date of the administration of theestate/inheritance. In the papers are mentioned Anne's sister Kari, whowas married to Ole Hansson and the sister Ragnhild who was 23 years oldand unmarried. Another thing which is worth noticing is that "HaldoeGrimsbuen" was the guardian for Ragnhild. (Women needed guardians atthat time). Gross value of the estate was 39-0-20, net value was11-2-14. After Anne died Ole stayed on at the farm and he could not runthe farm without a competent woman at his side, and July 9, 1736 he wasmarried to Siri Ingebrightsdotter Borkhus, Folldal (148-1) in Dovrechurch.
The sponsors were Bjoennel Ekre and Guttorm Landem. Siri was thedaughter of Ingebrigt Larsson and Anne Jonsdotter. Anne Jonsdotter wasthe daughter of the first user (first settler, pioneer) at Borkhus farm.

BIOGRAPHY: Samuel Barnes, son of Thomas and Mary [How] Barnes, had a grant of forty acres of land at "Matchuck" in 1710 and the total amount of his real estate holdings was three hundred and fourteen acres. He was town treasurer of Brookfield for some years, and died in office, October 7, 1733. He married Mercy, daughter of Deacon Henry Gilbert. She survived him, marrying for her second husband Thomas Gilbert, and for her thrid Josiah converse, Esquire. The children of Samuel and Mercy were: John, Moses, Miriam, Mary, Hannah, Abigail, Aaron, Lucy, and Rachael.
