Mrs. Viola Box Phillips, 94, of Pleasant Hill, died Wednesday,
Oct. 4.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, in the Pleasant
Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. I. Funderburk officiating.
Burial was in the Spring Ridge Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Wendell Reynolds of
Pleasant Hill; one son, Victory Phillips of Shreveport; 14
grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evie Hale of
Mansfield, and Mrs. Ida Ponder of Alexandria.
Drewett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services for Nannie B. Phillips, 92, of Mansfield, were held at
2 p.m., Thursday, May 3, in Drewett Funeral Home's Chapel, with
the Rev. Hall Payton, and Dr. William Crosby officiating. Burial
was in Wallace Cemetery in Pelican.
Mrs. Phillips died Wednesday, May 2, in a Mansfield hospital,
after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include son, Wayne Phillips of Many; daughters, Rita
Ramsey of Mansfield, Rolena Weiss of El Dorado, Ark., and Louis
Hartsfield of North Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Rita Phillips Ramsey, 87, of Mansfield, were
held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at Rose-Neath's of Mansfield
Chapel. Officiating was Dr. William Crosby, pastor of First
Baptist Church of Mansfield. Burial followed in the Wallace
Cemetery in Wallace, La.
Mrs. Ramsey died Friday, Nov. 3, at the DeSoto General Hospital.
She was born in Gloster. Mrs. Ramsey graduated from Louisiana
College in Pineville, and was a retired school teacher with the
DeSoto Parish School System
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Truman Ramsey;
one sister, Lois P. Hartsfield; and a brother, Wayne Phillips.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Robena P. Blann and husband
Robert of El Dorado, Ark.; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Phillips of
Many; nieces, Mrs. Gayle Fisher and husband Larry of Many, Julie
Hartsfield of Arkansas, and Emily Hartsfield of Arkansas; and
great nephew, Patrick Fisher of Many.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mansfield,
or the charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral services for Rev. L. J. Counts, age 74, who passed away
at his home near Many, Thursday, May 15, was conducted at Mt.
Zion Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Friday, May 16, with Rev. C. C.
Pierce officiating, assisted by Rev. Willis Greer. Interment was
in the church cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral
Home.
