Amelia (Amy) PETERSON48 was born on 19 May 1828 in New York.98 She died on 16 November 1913 in Chickasaw, Chickasaw County, Iowa.76 She was buried in 1914 in Cedar View Cemetery, Chickasaw County, Iowa. In her brother's (Solomon) petition statement for Civil War Pension taken in February 1927, he refers to Amelia as Amelia Barker.
In 2 Mar 1899 Nashua Reporter, it is written: "Mrs. Amelia Huffman and T. C. Peterson, of Nashua, went to Charles City Tuesday to visit at the home of W. A. McMillan."
The following is taken from the 20 November 1913 Nashua Reporter, Nashua Iowa: "Mrs. Amelia Huffman Dead. Mrs. Amelia Huffman, a former resident of this vicinity and mother in law of Mrs. W. A. McMillan, passed away Sunday at the home of her niece, Mrs. E. T. Trusty, in Ionia, after a prolonged illness. The deceased was the wife of the late Joseph Huffman, who preceded her to the great beyond in 1883. She was 85 years of age. The funeral was held in Ionia Tuesday afternoon and the interment was in the Chickasaw cemetery."
