8. Isaac PETERSON2,6,14 was born about 1678 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He died in 1740 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. See notes under his father John concerning grants of land in Duxbury, Massachusetts. There are two different recordings of Isaac and Mary's marriage. One is from the Vital Records of Hingham which indicates 28 Mar 1711 and the other is the Massachusetts Records to 1850 which records 10 Sep 1712 in Duxbury. From "The Peterson Family of Duxbury, Mass. by W. B. Browne:" "Isaac was born probably on the ancestral farm at Duxbury, died on the same farm in 1740. In the division of his estate in 1742 it is recorded that he had no male heirs, and his family is given as three daughters and two granddaughters (the latter the children of his son Daniel, deceased)." Under the writings of his brother Joseph, it indicates Isaac had two daughters, as such: "At the division of the estate of Isaac Peterson in 1742, his only son Daniel being already dead and having left only two daughters, Isaac's brother Joseph, the eldest surviving son of John, became Isaac's next male heir; but Joseph quitclaimed his rights in the land to Isaac's daughters." Isaac PETERSON and Mary HOBART were married on 28 March 1711 in Hingham. Mary HOBART7,14 was born on 18 August 1686. She died on 22 March 1763 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She was buried in 1763 in Old Cemetery (Standish), South Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Her gravestone gives, as the date of her death, 22 Mar. 1763, "Old Stile.". Records indicate she is buried in Standish and Old Cemeteries of South Duxbury leading writer to believe they are the same with alternate names. Another recording of her death is 3 April 1763.
