23. Reuben PETERSON6,18 was born on 8 April 1710 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He died on 1 November 1795 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He was buried in Dingley Cemetery, North Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. In the History of Duxbury, Massachusetts, under 43, MILLS, DAMS, ETC: "1742; Reuben Peterson owned a saw-mill on Phillip's brook; but the stream being small, he made an agreement (1770, Nov 23) with Consider Simmons, so that, for 12s, yearly, he might have the stream of the Black-Prier-brook by a ditch, where it runs through the said Simmons' land." Although quoted here and assumed it is this Reuben, there is no absolute proof.
From the files of Kenneth Dodge Boardman: "Text: Per will of Rebecca's father Joseph Simmons dated March 14, 1754 where he names her as Rebecca Peterson.
His first marriage was to Rebecca Simmons of Duxbury; had 12 children by her. Had three sons serve in the American Revolution; Nehemiah, Luther, and Reuben.

Reuben PETERSON and Elizabeth HOWLAND were married. Elizabeth HOWLAND2,18 was born about 1723. She was buried in July 1806 in Dingley Cemetery, North Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. She died on 23 July 1806.
