500. Ichabod B. PETERSON^2,90 was born on 17 March 1833.⁴² From Marty Grovers various resources, she writes "Daniel Porter Peterson and his younger brother, Ichabod, went to the Hawaiian Islands from San Francisco in the 1850's. They'd gone there for gold, found little; ships all rotting in San Francisco as crews deserted for gold digging. Daniel and his brother sailed on a whaler to Honolulu. Found letters there - Daniel's fiancee awaited him, but Ichabod's didn't. So Daniel returned to New Bedford to marry Jerusha Morey Clark on May 26, 1853 and Ichabod stayed in Hawaii and shipped from there on whalers, gradually working up to mate."
