BIOGRAPHY
Andrew immigrated from southwest Pennsylvania in 1801 and established the "Wilson Farm," as it was known as until 1906, on Tract 48, one mile south of Espyville. Andrew served during the War of 1812 in Captain Robert's Company of the Pennsylvania Militia from 25 Jul 1814 to 25 Aug 1814.

At his death, he provided for his family as follows: $20 each to his sons Hugh and Robert and to his daughters Sarah, Mary and Margaret, $5 to his daughter Isabelle and $30 and necessary bedding and furniture to his disabled daughter Rebecca, $50 and the remainder of the household furniture to his wife Mary, and $42 to his son Joseph the executor of his will. Since he was serving as the executor of the will of his son-in-law Isaac P. Marshall, he also provided for Isaac's wife and children from any residue due him from that estate.

At the Wilson Family Reunion in 1886, it was noted that Andrew and Marry Patton had 141 descendants; eight children, 47 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Parents: Hugh WILLSON and Isabella MCKEEVER.

On 8 April 1910, the Reverend Andrew Willson was honored at a ceremony recognizing the golden anniversary of his ministry within the Universalist Church. In 1865 Andrew was appointed first pastor of the Universalist congregation in Kent, Ohio. Services were help in the Town Hall until the new church building was completed three years later. He remained as pastor until 1876 when he helped found and became the treasurer of Buchtel College, which later became the University of Akron. Parents: Hugh WILLSON and Hannah ALLEN.

Hugh served during the War of 1812 in Captain Harzog's Company of the 2nd Pennsylvania Militia from 2 Oct 1812 to 17 Apr 1815. As of the Wilson Family Reunion in 1896, eight of the eleven children of Hugh and Hannah were living. Seven had lost their spouses, two had remarried, one of which had lost a second spouse. He owned 231 acres of land on 13 Jan 1781 in Colerain, Lancaster Co., PA.(707) (Hugh purchased this land from his father 1 Jan 1781 for 1,600 pounds. Witnessing this deed were John Patterson and Richard Free. On 29 Jul 1784 Hugh mortgaged this land to Samuel McClellan and John Patterson for 720 pounds, the unpaid balance of the 1,200 pounds necessary to pay off the debts and bequests (347 pounds) of his father, as shown in his father's will. This debt was satisfied by Hugh on 16 Nov 1797. On 6 Mar 1787 Hugh and Isabella sold 26 acres and 138 perches for 58 pounds and 10 shillings. On 2 Oct 1792, Hugh and Isabella sold Robert Patterson four acres for 12 pounds.) Hugh moved his family westward to southwestern Pennsylvania and settled inf Fayette County, Pennsylvania. This move took place over the Great Pennsylvania Road, the current US Route 30, which runs from Philadelphia through Lancaster County to Pittsburgh. Originally a series of Indian trails, it was over this route that General Braddock's militia travelled on his ill-fated expedition in 1775 to take Fort Duquense at what is now Pittsburgh.

Migration to western PA was very popular among those of Scots-Irish descent, particularly after the Revolutionary War. This migration continued into northwestern PA and eastern OH during the next generation. Following this trend, Hugh's children moved to Crawford County in the northwestern corner of PA along with many other families from Fayette County, starting in 1800, and from there, some migrated to Astabula County, Ohio, and to Tuscola County, Michigan. About 1809 Hugh moved from Fayette County to the North Shenango TWP of Crawford County PA where he lived with his eldest son Andrew until his death about 20 years later.

Hugh WILLSON, Thomas WILLSON, Andrew WILSON, and Richard FREE signed Oaths of Allegiance on 2 Jul 1777. The Oath was administered and certified by Joseph Miller. (Mayhill, R. Thomas, compiler. Hugh sold his land to Samuel Downing who was listed in the 1800 Census, Bart Twp., Lancaster Co., Penn., as a male under 44 years of age. Parents: Thomas WILLSON and Eloner.

He was married to Isabella MCKEEVER on 8 Dec 1774 in Lancaster County PA.(714) [This marriage took place at St. James Episcopal (Anglican) Church. According to Leo Shelly, historian, Thomas Barton was Rector at the time. He served many communities of Lancaster County. Isaac was 11 years old when he moved with his parents to Tuscola County in the early 1850s. He farmed with his father on the family land until, at the age of 22, he bought 120 acres just west of Unionville. He cleared 16 acres and planted wheat. In 1864, just a year after buying his land, he was mustered into Company A of the 1st Michigan Infantry. He fought in the battles of Yellow House, Hatcher's Run, and the siege and capture of Richmond. He was mustered out on 9 July 1865 and suffered a year from severe illness induced by his exposures in the service.

Isaac bought his land on credit and had only a steer, calf, and an ax. The calf ran away and was lost, leaving Isaac and his family with a steer and an ax. Isaac built a cabin on his land. His family lived in it for some time before Isaac could put a door on it.

He was a founder of the local Metihodist Church and his home was used for services in its early days. He was survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildrren. Parents: Hugh WILSON 3rd and Ann COLLINS.

He was married to Angeline M.
