"After the civil war, He operated a lumber/saw mill at Trenton, Maryland. They lived in the mill house next to the mill. William's civil war uniform hung in the parlor. He talked alot about the hardships of being a soldier and the long walk home from Norfolk, Va in July 1863. The old stone mill is currently vacant and all the internal working parts were sold for iron scrap in the 1940's. "

I have emplyed him off and on for several years and he suffered greatly from piles and hemorage oftentimes had to stop working on account and in my opinion he cannot make more than half time at work... I have worked with him his disabilities is not due to vicious habits." Informant on his death certificate is Isadora and his parents Jacob Grim and Mary Bollinger were named. Reed and Mrs. Harold Enser; one brother, William Grimm of York; one stepbrother, John Grimm (New York City); two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Buckson of Hanover and Alice Grimm of Baltimore; also twelve grandchildren." She was buried in Steltz Church (Bethlehem Steltz Church?)
