My family started out from around Crowle, Lincs and maybe the River Humber area as there were several boatmen in the family. They then moved to Thorne, East Yorkshire, a bigger style town with more industry and coal mining. Then they shot across to Wakefield in West Yorkshire, again with more industry, coal mining and light industry. By this time, they had progressed from farm labourers to inn keepers and moved to Leeds, West Yorkshire a big varied heavy and light industry town. Up to this time our family seemed to stick together, but after the WW2 was over, we began to scatter with two of us migrating to Australia for a better life and two other brothers going to Lancashire and one to East Yorkshire, on separate and opposite coasts of England. There their descendants dwell now. That is Jack Pepper and Frank Pepper. Harry Pepper and Fred Pepper came to Queensland and NSW respectively. I am now the last of my family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
