James Pennington (LEVI3, AARON2, EPHRIAM1) was born March 12, 1848 in Leslie/Clay Co., Kentucky, and died January 16, 1933 in Little Sexton Creek, Clay Co., Kentucky. He married Liza (Louisa) Sizemore July 20, 1867 in Leslie Co., Kentucky, daughter of Harmon Sizemore and Susan Sizemore. She was born December 20, 1846 in Lower Bad Creek, Asher, Clay (now Leslie) Co., Kentucky, and died December 10, 1932 in Little Sexton Creek, Clay Co., Kentucky.
James was tall, handsome and blue eyed. About 1881 he bought a farm on Little Sexton's Creek now know as Pennington Rd. He built a 1-1/2 story home. At one point James and Liza moved from Kentucky to Arkansas close to Liza's parents. James is said to have caught the fever and they returned home to Kentucky.

James b.Mar.1848 and Louisa b.Dec.1846 are listed in the 1900 Jackson Co., Kentucky Census, pg.147a, #81-82 with William b.Jun.1877, Felix b.Aug.1882, James M. b.Dec.1885, John L. b.Jun.1890 and servant Sarah Moore b.Mar.1884.
James 65 and Louisa 73 are listed in the 1920 Jackson Co., Kentucky Census, ED# 20, Pg. 35A, #1-1, with Myrtle 17 (granddaughter) and Bessie 14 (granddaughter). James' age is probably incorrect due to a transcription error by the census enumerator.
James and Liza were both buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Clay Co., Kentucky.
