This picture shows my Grandmother
Arvilla Russell (nee Lansdell) with her fellow school students and staff.
It was taken about 1895 when she was living in the Snelgrove or perhaps
a little earlier in the Ebenezer area of Peel. I'm hoping that someone
might be able to identify the school.
Arvilla is on the far right, ribbons in her hair beside the male teacher.

Patrick and Bridget
McAuliffe.
Picture taken about 1870.
Patrick McAuliffe was born in Ireland (probably the Limerick area) in
1823. He married Bridget Enright
in 1849, probably in Ontario.
Bridget was born in Ireland, probably the Limerick area, about 1823.
She was the widow of Denis Collins and they had 3 children, John, Maurice,
and Johanna. We know that 2 of these children came to Ontario with her
about 1846, but they are not found with her and Patrick in the 1861
census. Patrick and Bridget had 6 children of their own and are found in
the 1861, 1871, and 1881 Censuses of Toronto Township, Peel County.
Bridget was the sister of Denis Enright, who also
came from Ireland, married Margaret Blackall,
and they also raised their 12 children in Peel County. Bridget died in
1877 in Ontario and Patrick, after remarrying, died in 1890 in Ontario.
Both are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakville, Peel, Ontario,
