the 'Fortune'.

JOHN PEVERLY & WALTER BAGNALL were MURDERED
on Richmond Island, Maine.
Their Trading Post was burned
down around them.
The Journal of John Winthrop
states that Bagnall & his partner
John P. were killed by Squidrayset
and his men, some Indians belonging to
that part of the country because they
felt Bagnall had robbed and cheated them
The Indian Wars of New England and
The Biography and History of the
Indians of North America also give
the same account.

Rev. Thomas Peverly owned property in Portsmouth, New Hampshire from Peverly Hill down Sagamore Creek to the Atlantic Ocean. Peverly Brook was also named after him.
There is a stream running from
the brook which dumps into
Sagamore Creek.
