Nominal Enlistment Rolls by Parishes
The Great War 1914-1919

L'ARDOISE
Rev. A. A. Boudreau, P.P. Summary: 94 enlisted, 9 killed, 6 wounded

During World War One [WWI] L'Ardoise as was the case with all other villages, towns and cities of Canada was called upon to send many of her fine young men overseas to serve in "The Great War"; the war that was being fought to end all wars.

As is the tragedy and horror of war some of her finest made the ultimate sacrifice, and gave up their lives so that we, their descendents, could live in a country, free to live in peace; without fear of tyranny.

Below is a list of these brave men of L'Ardoise who made that great sacrifice on our behalf. Those killed are indicated in UPPER CASE LETTERS, and those wounded are indicated with an asterisk.*
