This is the last Will and Testament of Sarah Sealy Ewens (nee Powell), of Bridport Dorset dated 27 July 1903
Of 20 Bedford Place, Bridport in the County of Dorset, Widow, I do hereby appoint my nephew Frederick ANDREWS of Beaminster, in the said County. Cooper and Thomas WHITE of Bridport aforesaid china dealer Executors and Trustees of this my Will and I give unto Rachel ANDREWS of Beaminster, Widow, my mahogany cheffonese [a sideboard with pretensions], I give unto Betty RANDALL, daughter of Alfred RANDALL, of 16 St Thomas St, Weymouth my American organ, I give unto my niece, Kate ANDREWS, now residing at Beaminster my old ???? Chest. I give unto my said nephew Frederick ANDREWS my mahogany chest of drawers, I give unto my cousin Sarah GOSLING now residing at Swindon my oak chest of drawers, I give unto my cousin Frederick James GOSLING, now residing at Swindon the oil painting of my late aunt Mary GIBSON. I give all my silver plated spoons equally between my two nieces Sarah POWELL and Annie POWELL now residing at San Francisco. I give unto Frederick Milton HALSHEAD formerly Wesleyan Minister at Bridport my fourteen volumes of the Methodist Magazine. I give my share in The Monarch Building Society to the Trustees of the Bridport Wesleyan in trust to apply the income arising therefrom towards the work of decorating the Sunday Schools and in keeping the school organ in good repair at the Bridport Wesleyan Sunday Schools. I give, devise and bequeath all the residue and remainder of my Real and Personal Estate (after payment thereof of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses) unto my Trustees in trust to sell, call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and to divide the residue of my said Real and Personal Estate into and equally between my Nephew Alfred George POWELL, my said two nieces Sarah POWELL and Annie POWELL, my four nieces Sarah RICHARDS Eliza RICHARDS, Mary or May ROBINSON and Blanch RICHARDS and my sister-in-law Jane EWENS now residing at Cardiff, and my said cousin Sarah GOSLING.
And lastly revoking all former Wills I declare this to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 27th day of July 1903.
