Nine assigned to Fleet Target Service, Atlantic and Mediterranean Fleets; about 40 to Training and Experimental Establishments, as detailed on a later page. Disposal of rest not known.

Belong to "Castle," " Mersey," and " Strath " types. Usually as follows:-

  • (a) 665 tons,
  • 11 kts. speed,
  • 204 tons coal;
  • (b) 547 tons,
  • 10.5 kts.,
  • 164 tons coal ;
  • (c) 429 tons,
  • 10 kts.,
  • 95 tons coal.
  • Guns: Usually 1 - 12 pdr., but a few have 1 - 4 inch.
