NOTE.-All the old Light Cruisers of " Sentinel " type given below will not be used again for Fleet Service except in emergency.

SENTINEL (April, 1904) and SKIRMISHER (Feb., 1905). Both by Vickers Ltd.

  • Displacement, 2895 tons.
  • Dimensions: 360 x 40 x 14.75 feet (maximum draught).
  • Complement 298.
  • Guns: (M. VII) : 9 - 4 inch and (in Sentinel) 1 - 3 inch AA., 1 - 6 pdr. AA.. 1 - 3 pdr. AA., (in Skirmisher) 1 - 3 inch AA., 1 - 6 pdr.
  • Torpedo tubes (14 inch) : 2 above water.
  • Armour : 1.5" - 5/8ths Deck.
  • Machinery : 2 sets 4 cylinder. 2 screws.
  • H.P. about 17,000 = 25 kts.
  • Coal: normal. 160 tons: maximum, 410 ton
