INTRODUCTION

Our great-grandparents define eight branches of our ancestry, all of which are unique in several respects. Each branch emigrated from its own part of Europe, and each settled for several generations in its own part of America before eventually heading west following its own path across the country. The locales shown in the figure indicate where the various branches met and married.
