Samuel Nesbitt+ James Nisbet 2 3 Born: Cir 1655, Loudoun Parish, Ayrshire, Scotland Marriage: ? circa 1695 1 Died: 1720, Newark, Essex Co., New Jersey at age 65   General Notes: James apparently took little part in the activities of the Covenanters against the ruling authorities. In 1680, he was established as a merchant in the town of Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland. James Nisbet voluntarily joined a company of emigrants, and on 5 Sept., 1685, they set sail on the Henry and Francis from Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland and on the 20th of December, 1685, they arrived at Perth Amboy, East Jersey. James Nisbet remained only a short time at Perth Amboy, and then settled in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Here James Nisbet resided until 1690, when he moved to Newark. He remained there until his death. 1 3 James married ? circa 1695.1
