ZACHARIAH4 EMERY (Zachariah,3 James,2 Anthony1), son of Zachariah and Elizabeth (Goodwin) Emery; b. Oct. 5, 1690; married Sarah -- (died Oct. 8, 1732). He married, second, Rebecca Reddington, of Topsfield, Mass., May 20, 1733; married, third, Thankful Foster, June 26, 1744, who after the death of her husband, married Jona. Spaulding of Carlisle and died Aug. 31, 1785, aged 85. Zachariah Emery resided in Chelmsford, Mass., enlisted June, 1745, in the Expedition against Cape Breton in Capt. Gershom Davis' Company. In Oct., 1745, he was sent to Boston as the agent of his company to make up the muster roll and being taken sick did not return to Cape Breton. After his recovery he petitioned the General Court for remuneration for the loss of his gun and that of his son Samuel who was in the same Expedition. He places the value of the two guns at twenty-five pounds and ten shillings gs. The sum paid him for his loss was three pounds and eighteen shillings gs. Children, born in Chelmsford, Mass. 1713-32: Sarah, Noah, Zachariah, Noah, Samuel, John, Sarah, Daniel, Ebenezer, Elizabeth; by second wife 1738: James; by third wife 1749-53: Thankful, Samuel.
