Taler, Mrs John (Marriott, Desdamona "Dessie")
     Dessie Taler born Jan 21, 1871 near Versailles, the daughter of Elza Dice and Philena Merriott, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. I. Baker, near Warrensburg on Jan 18, 1951, just 3 days short of her 80th birthday.  She married John Taler in 1889.  They were the parents of 2 children: Robert, who died in 1923, and Myrtle (now Mrs. L.I. Baker).  Joh Taler died in 1946.  She is survived by one sister: Jennie Taler of Clarksburg; one brother: L.G. Merriott of Mound Valley Kans.; one half sister: Mrs. Nellie Wilson of Versailles; 2 half brothers: Phillip Merriott and Elza Merriott of Versailles. 7 grandchildren and  9 great grandchildren.  Funeral services held at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard L. Bright officiating.  Attending from out of town: Mr. & Mrs. L.I. Baker, Mr. & Mrs. Calvin Smith & daughter Patty, Mrs. Marjorie Williams & son of Warrensburg Mo; Mr. & Mrs. Robert Baker and sons of Minneapolis, Minnniesota; Mr. & Mrs. L. G. Marriott of Mound Valley, Kansas; Mrs. Carl Brandes & daughter of Bunceton Mo.; Mr. & Mrs. Floyd O'neal & famly of Kansas City and Jennie Taler of Clarksburg.
