Raines, William Thomas
   William Thomas Raines, 89, son of James and Mary Raines was born Novenber 25, 1867 in Talsonan county, Illinois and passed away at the home of his son, Preston Raines, on March 1, 1957.  On October 2, 1895 he was maried to Mrs. Sarah Crver and had 9 children.  Preceded in death by his parents and one daughter: Miss Ollie Raines.  He is survived by his wife: Sarah; 6 sons: Floyd of Montreal Missouri, Preston of Gravois Mills Missouri, George of Camdenton Missouri, Nelson of Versailles Missouri, William of Gravois Mills Missouri and Roy of New Franklin Missouri; 2 daughters: Mrs. Grace Romine of Edwards Missouri and Mrs Opal Skold of Kansas city Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Mr Rains was an accomplished fiddle player and during his life time the strains of his violins were heard in many parts of the state.
   Funeral services were held at the Kidwell Funeral Home with the Rev. P.H. Wilbanks of Ozark Chapel Methodist Church officiating.  Burial in the Versailles cemetery.
