Meyer, Hugh A.
     Hugh a A Meyer, 73, died August 21, 1956.  Hugh anderson Meyer, a son of J.C. and Angeline Carroll Meyer, was born at Jamestown, Missouri on March 3, 1883.  He attended schools in Jamestown, Central Business College in Sedalia and Central College in Fayette.  He was a registered pharmacist.  He went into business with his father in Jamestown in 1910.  In 1828 he moved his family to Versailles where he worked as a oharmacist at the Cash Drug Store until 1940 when he opened his own durg business in the building now occupied by the Versailles Hardware Store.  Later that year he bought the Rexall Crug Store where he was  in business until his death.  Mr. Meyer was a member of the Versailles Methodist Church.
   Survivors include his wife; 3 sons: roger M. Meyer of Versailles, Rev. Don Meyer of Oroville California and Hugh A Meyer Jr of Lebanon Mo; one sister: Mrs O.E. Devy of Topeka Kansas and 7 grandchildren.
   The funeral services were directed by Kidwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Earl Whitaker, Mel Hughes, Hugh Hart, Reed Moore, Bill Krieling, Paul Barnes, Earle Beckman and Claude dunnawasy.  Members of the Masonic Lodge were honary pall bearers.  Employees (present & former) who carried flowers were: Mrs Russell Ferrin, Pat McDoald, Bonnie Jahe, Mildred Hagerman, Anna Lee, Lou Ann Stith, Mrs. Bill Caine, Mrs Langdon Henderson, Mrs. Gerold Wilcox, Dimple Campbell, Mrs. J.C. Garrison, Mrs Bob Garrison.  Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Bartram sang "The Rosary".  Quartet: Mrs. Bartram, Jim Hall, Barbara Humphrey, and John Nelson sang "Lead me Gently Home".  Interment in the Versailles cemetery.  Attending from out of town were: Don F. Meyer of Oroville California, Mr & Mrs O.E. Devy of Topeka Kansas, Mr & Mrs. Harold Meyer of Olney Illinois, Mrs. O.E. Devy of Topeka Kansas, Mr & Mrs. Harold Meyer of Olney Illinois, Mrs. G.L. Schapbach and daughter Martha, Mrs Otto Fullerich of Jamestown, Mr & Mrs R.S. McDonough of Wichita Kansas, David Prewitt of Kansas City Missouri and Mrs. C.D. Heyssel, Mrs. C.O. Putman and Mrs. Eula Crum all of California Missouri, Mr & Mrs Hugh Meyer Jr and family and H.F. Goldshy and Lynn Moore all of Lebanon Missouri.
