Kays, James William 
   James William Kays, 82, died May 13, 1957.  He was the son of Jack and Poly Lamman Kays, born February 7, 1875 in Canden county in the Horseshoe Bend area.  He went to school in Camden county. In 1902 he married Miss Leona Phillips, who survives. 5 children, 4 of which survive: Claude of Windsor, Oliver of Sunnymeade California, Mrs. Mitchell Tising of High Point and Mrs. Harold Gracy of High Point.  He also leaves 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mrs. Leora Bledsoe of Glenstead and Mrs. Ella Cornett of Harrison Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: roscoe; 3 sisters and 1 brother.
   Funeral services were held in the Versailles Christian Church with the Rev. J.L. Freeman officiating. Burial in the Versailles cemetery under the direction of the Kays Funeral Home.
