Eunice Ethel Holt, wife of Dr. E.M. Holt died September
27, ____ a daughter of Richard W. and Mary R. Spencer, Mrs. Holt was born
at Osage Ironworks on November 28, 1888. She married Dr. E.M. Holt
on November 21, 1909. She became a member of the Christian Church
of Urbana in 1910. She served as a pianist and primary teacher at
the Osage Ironworks Mission for a period of years while she cared for her
aged mother. Later she served in the same capacity for the Presbyterian
Church of Climax Springs. Bagnell Dam flooded their old home, so
Dr. and Mrs. Holt moved to a farm near Warrensburg. In that community she
became a primary teacher and pianist for the Harmony Mission Baptist Church.
Upon coming to Versailles Dr. & Mrs. Holt transferred their membership
to the Versailles Christian Church where she served temporarily as
pianist. She leaves her husband: Dr. Holt of the home; a sister:
Mrs. Maud Cable; a brother Alex Spencer.
Funeral services at the Versailles Christian Church with the Rev. J.L.
Freeman officiating. Interment in the Versailles cemetery under the direction
of Kidwell Funeral Home.
