Hilderbrand, Joe B. Joe B. Hilderbrand, 77,
Route 1, Versailles died October 24, 1976 at the Good Shepherd Nursing
Home. He was born near Gravois Mills October 10, 1899, son of the
late Robert and Mary Meyers Hilderbrand. He was married March 9,
1931 to Miss Mabel Ann Ensminger, who died February 1, 1964. He is
survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Ruth Hilderbrand, Mrs. George A. (Etta) Porter
and Mrs. H. W. (Marie) Smiley, all of Versailles; 4 brothers: Woodrow Hildebrand
of Versailles, John A. and Olney Hilderbrand both of Kansas City and Curtis
Hildebrand of Stover; 1 sister: Mrs. Ella Taylor of Versailles. In
addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one son: James
Robert Hilderbrand on October 7, 1942; 2 brothers; James Robert in 1954
and one infant brother Clydie; 1 sister: Mrs. Maggie Hackler in 1929.
He was a retired farmer and operated a service station for about
30 years near Versailles.
Funeral services held at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home with
Dr. William Seathoff o fficiating. Mrs. Mike Homan and Mrs. Dean
Homan sang. Organ by Mrs. Johnnie Shad. Honorary pallbearers: Earnest
Houseworth, Moss McDonald, Bud Blacksten, Norman Thompson, Barney O'Neal
and Ray Allee. Active pall bearers: Aubrey Huffman. M.F. "Bud" Ayres, Gene
Bartram, Ted Hitchcock, Bert Marshall, Darrell Goodman and Chester Daniels.
Interment in the Versailles cemetery.
Hodges, Albert Franklin Albert Franklin Hodges, son of Elisha
and Nancy Hodges was born May 15, 1875 in Cole county, Missouri near Russelville.
He died at home in Versailles on May 8, 1950 at 75 years 11 months and
24 days of age. He married Mary Isabelle Ratcliff on January 13,
1901. They established their home on a farm near Hopewell Church.
To this union were born 4 children: Maggie, Edgar, Ralph and Sidney.
Maggie preceded him in death in 1923. Survived by his wife and 3
sons all of Versailles; a sister: Mrs. T.F. Ratcliff also of Versailles;
a brother: Lloyd Hodges of High Point; 4 grandchildren: Erma, Dean, Terry
and Lannie Hodges all of Versailles. January 13. 1951 he and Mrs.
Hodges celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.
Services were held at the Hopewell Church with the Rev.
Norman Williams of Eldon officiating. Burial in the Hopewell cemetery under
the direction of Kidwell Funeral Home.
