Charles Gilbert Hibdon, son of Cornie
and Jenny Hibdon was born in Morgan county on September 27, 1904, and died
suddenly of a heart attack at Gravois Mills on Thursday September 24, 1959.
He was 54 years old. On July 20, 1933 he was married to Viola Gertrude
Coontz and they had 1 child Flo Elois, who died in infancy. He is
survived by his wife: Viola of the home; his father: Cornie Hibdon of Gravois
Mills; 1 step-daughter: Mrs. Leroy Blanks of Gravois Mills; 1 son: Donald
Hibdon of Kansas City; 3 grandchildren; 1 sister: Mrs. Edna Coontz; 1 brother:
Lloyd Hibdon of Kansas city. He was preceded in death by his mother
and one grandchild. He was a member of the Gravois Baptist Church.
He was active in the construction of the new building at Gravois Mills
and had been working toward its completion at the time of his death.
Funeral services at the Gravois Mills Methodist Church
on September 27, 1959 with Rev. A.D. Gillespie officiating. Pallbearers;
Charley McKinley, Charles L. Hibdon, Grady Nash, Curl Melfin, Donald Marriott
and Vincent Connor. Honorary Pallbearers: Jane Dunn and Joe McKinley.
Quartet: Mrs. Donald Bell, Mrs. Joe Walters, Mrs. Charles McKinley and
Rev. McNeely, accompanied by Mrs. A.D. Gillespie. Interment at the Silvey
cemetery under the direction of Scrivener's Funeral Home
