Goodman, Benjamin F.
  Benjamin F. "Ben" Goodman died October 23, 1957 at the age of 73 yers 8 months and 4 days.  For 21 years he operated a shoe store in Versailles and for 14 years he and Mrs. Goodman operated the Goodman's Ice Cream Cottage, located next door to their home.  In 1955 the business was sold and he retired.  A son of John Frank and Hannah Goodman, he was born on a farm near Florence Missouri on February 19, 1882.  He married Miss Eva Mae Wassung on January 26, 1908.  No children were born to them but a nephew, John Goodman and Mrs Ellen (Gross) Wood were reared in the home.  Preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.  Survived by his wife, Eva; a brother: James Goodman of Florence; a sister: Mrs. Ann Houchens of La Monte and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held in the Versailles Methodist church with the Rev. E. D. Walkin Jr. officiating. Interment in the Versailles cemetery under the direction of Kidwell Funeral Home.
