George Edward Elley
Son of the Late Edward and Melinda Jane Farmer Elley born December 16, 1883 at Nokane Missouri.  He died August 28, 1955 at age 71 years 8 months and 12 days.  December 25, 1912 he was united in marriage with Minnie Mae Allee and had 3 sons and 1 daughter.  He is survived by his wife of the home; sons: Harold of Jefferson City, Ralph of Parnell Iowa, and Russell of Bethel Kansas and 1 daughter: Mrs. R.E. Lake of El Reno Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 1 sister: Mrs. Mattie Hinton of Red Bluff California; 1 half-sister: Mrs. William Flottman of Versaillles; his step-mother: Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Elley of Versailles.  His mother died when he was 3 years old and he was raised in the home of his grandmother: Mrs. Mattie Farmer, and an Aunt Mrs. Sally Boyer in Callaway county, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jim and a half-sister Mattie Farmer.
   The funeral was held in the Versailles Baptist Church wit the following pallbearers:Gordon Allen, Earl Whiteaker, Hal Louzhary, Wayne Gunckel, Bud Ferguson, Mel Hughts and Edwin Heller..  Burial in the Versailles cemetery.
