Crane, Fred (died 10/11/1946)
Fred Crane was killed at a railroad crossing near Marvin.  Mrs Crane died suddenly Oct 18, 1945.  The funeral was held at the Big Rock Church with burial in the Big Rock cemetery.  He married Miss Pearl Ferguson.  They had 1 son Al Crane, and a daughter, Mrs. Norman Thompson. a Grandson, Gene Crane, had lived with his grandfather and will now live with his aunt.  He is survived by 2sisters: Mrs. W.L. Watson of Miami Oklahoma and Rona McDow of Barnett; 3 brothers: Cap Crane of Barnett, Curtis Crane of Rock Island, Ill and Ed Crane of St. Louis.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. FRED CRANE SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1945
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21, at 3;00 o'clock at the Big Rock
Baptist Church for Mrs. Fred Crane, 62, who died suddenly of a heart attack at her home,
Thursday morning, Oct. 18, 1945. Rev. Sapp, pastor of the church, was in charge. The
Barnett choir was in charge of the song service. Burial was in the Big Rock Cemetery,
directed by Kays Funeral service. Mrs. Crane was born on November 20, 1883, and before
her marriage to Fred Crane on Oct. 25, 1906, was Pearl Minerva Ferguson. She was the
mother of five children, two of whom survive. She united with the Christian Church of
Barnett and remained a member throughout her life. Surviving are her husband, Fred
Crane; one son, Al Crane, who is now serving in the U. S. Army in France; one daughter,
Mrs. Norman Thompson, of Kansas City, Kansas; and one grandson, G. Grane of the
home. Also surviving three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Opie of Eldon, Mrs. Myrtle Phillips of
Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. G. B. Phillips of Versailles; one brother, P. O. Ferguson, of
Wellington, Kansas.
